I reblog here a smart piece. It’s a brief lesson in ethics (not to mention law) for models who claim—and claim on a modeling site—that they own a portion of the copyright (after having signed a contract that says otherwise and after having been paid for their work), for fellow photographers (who are more than happy to use the photographer’s photo of a model who’ll be modeling for their “shoot with professional models,” but will, in a most unprofessional manner, strip the photographer’s name off the photo which they use to advertise their financial venture), for people online (who want to take the photographer’s work to advertise their business or site, without notifying the photographer, without asking for permission or offering payment), and for people in the public who don’t know better (but obviously don’t know anything about respect for another person’s work).
